About WaterlooMountain

A Vancouver-based studio built around Eastern dragon mythology and the belief that social entertainment should be calm, beautiful, and completely free.

Our Story

WaterlooMountain was founded in Vancouver by a small team of designers and developers who shared a simple conviction: free social entertainment should be worth your time. We launched in early 2026 with a single mission — to build a platform that respects both the art form it draws on and the audience it serves.

Our inspiration is the rich tradition of Eastern dragon mythology. The dragon in East Asian culture is not a creature of terror but a symbol of wisdom, fortune, and elemental power — jade, fire, pearl, and sky woven together into an iconography that has endured for millennia. We spent months studying the visual language of jade carvings, temple lacquerwork, and classical brush painting before writing a single line of code. The result is WaterlooMountain: a three-tier free-play platform where every symbol has a story and every session is a small encounter with ancient lore.

From the beginning, we built our three-tier progressive format entirely from scratch. We did not license a third-party entertainment platform SDK, use a game engine designed for real-money operators, or adapt any existing commercial round framework. Every mechanic — the FIRE token accumulation, the tier-unlock thresholds, the symbol weighting — was designed by our team to be engaging without being compulsive. The sessions are deliberately short. The outcomes are deliberately calm.

Responsible-play transparency has been part of our programme from day one, not an afterthought added to satisfy a checklist. We believe that free-play platforms that superficially resemble real-money activity carry a genuine obligation to be honest with their audience. That is why our Play Mindfully page is a real resource, not a legal disclaimer — and why every page of this site carries a link to accredited Canadian help organisations.

We are proud to be based in British Columbia, one of Canada's most progressive provinces on the question of digital consumer protection. Our privacy practices follow both PIPEDA and the BC Personal Information Protection Act. We do not collect names, payment details, or location data. What little session data we handle is held for a maximum of 90 days and used only to improve the platform.

"We wanted to prove that a free-play social platform could be genuinely beautiful — that you didn't have to sacrifice artistry for accessibility, or responsibility for engagement. The dragon is our symbol of that ambition: ancient, patient, and always looking forward."

How We Think

What We Don't Do

  • Charge entry fees or accept payment of any kind
  • Offer prizes, cash, or withdrawable rewards
  • Use third-party entertainment platform or real-money game engines
  • Collect names, addresses, or payment data
  • Display advertising inside the game experience
  • Target users under 18 years of age

What We Do

  • Provide genuinely free social entertainment for adults
  • Build every mechanic in-house with responsible-play in mind
  • Publish a real help resource on our Play Mindfully page
  • Follow PIPEDA and BC PIPA privacy regulations
  • Ask for age verification and cookie consent on first visit
  • Link to four accredited Canadian support organisations

How We Measure Success

  • Voluntary return visits — not addictive loops
  • Sessions that end when the player chooses to stop
  • Zero complaints about misleading real-money impressions
  • Positive feedback about the mythology and art direction
  • Clean audit results on every responsible-play gate
  • A Play Mindfully page people actually read
